Municipality of Sopishte Creditworthiness Analyses Completed

USAID Macedonia Local Government Activity Planning, Capital Budgeting and Municipal Credit team completed creditworthiness analysis for the Municipality of Sopishte, prior to applying for borrowing approval from the Ministry of Finance (MOF). The analysis concentrated on the financial performance of the local government based on data for 2008-2010 and forecasts for 2011-2012 periods. IPA Proposal Projects Sent

USAID Macedonia Local Government Activity assisted five Macedonia municipalities (Struga, Gostivar, Prilep Mogila and Tetovo) to complete their project proposals for IPA funding. Pilot Municipalities near Property Database Update Completion

All three pilot municipalities (Bogdanci, Jegunovce and Zelenikovo) in the MLGA property tax database update activity continued field work as well as office activities. During this month, Jegunovce identified and registered additional 588 and Bogdanci 32 new properties, or 620 in total. MLGA finalized the initial version of the website for the Municipality of Pehchevo. USAID Macedonia Local Government Activity organized a presentation of the website for the mayor and the municipal team in charge of public relations. Transparent Municipality “Policy and Procedure” Draft Document sent for Review to Participating Municipalities

The draft Policy and Procedure document that was developed by a working group established within the Transparent Municipality Program, implemented via USAID Macedonia Local Government Activity grant to ZELS, was finalized in July and sent to all 14 municipalities participating in the Program for their review and comments upon which a final version will be developed.
